What We Do

Lions District 2-X3 serves communities across Central and East Texas, uniting local Lions Clubs in 15 counties including Anderson, Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Henderson, Hill, Houston, Lampasas, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, and Navarro to deliver hands-on service, support vision and youth programs, and strengthen local communities through volunteer leadership and partnership. Focusing on the 2nd Half

Every initiative we launch is crafted to strengthen communities and steward resources responsibly. By sharing transparent insights and actionable guidance, we aim to multiply good work and spark collaboration across causes and continents.

Fostering Leadership

Strong Lions clubs are built on confident, capable leaders who understand both service and stewardship. In District 2X3, fostering leadership means intentionally identifying members with potential and giving them opportunities to grow through hands on experience. Committee roles, project leadership, zone participation, and district assignments help Lions build skills while staying grounded in service to their communities.

Leadership development in 2X3 is also about mentorship. Experienced Lions sharing institutional knowledge with newer members ensures continuity and stability across clubs. When leaders are supported rather than left to figure things out alone, clubs become healthier, more resilient, and better prepared to serve.

By investing in leadership at every level, District 2X3 strengthens its future. Strong leaders today create strong clubs tomorrow, ensuring Lions continue to meet evolving community needs across our counties.

Developing New Clubs

Developing new clubs is essential to expanding Lions service and meeting unmet needs across District 2X3. Each community has unique challenges, and new clubs allow Lions to respond locally while staying connected to the broader mission of Lions International. Growth is not about numbers alone but about relevance, accessibility, and sustainability.

District 2X3 focuses on intentional club development by identifying communities ready for service, supporting chartering efforts, and ensuring new clubs start with a strong foundation. This includes leadership training, mentorship from sponsoring clubs, and clear guidance on operations, reporting, and service planning.

When new clubs are launched with care and ongoing support, they are more likely to thrive. Strong starts lead to lasting impact, stronger partnerships, and a wider reach for Lions service throughout the district.

Lifelong Lions = Lifelong Service

Encouraging Lions to succeed means creating an environment where members feel supported, valued, and empowered to contribute in ways that fit their strengths. In District 2X3, success is not defined by perfection but by progress, engagement, and service impact.

Clubs succeed when Lions are given clear expectations, meaningful roles, and recognition for their efforts. Providing training, sharing best practices, and promoting collaboration between clubs helps Lions overcome challenges and stay motivated. When Lions know their work matters, they show up more fully for their communities.

Small acts of kindness scale into powerful movements.

DG Stacey Phillips

District Governor Stacey Phillips has been a Lion since 2016 and has served at nearly every club and district level, including Club President, Zone Chair, and First and Second Vice District Governor. A progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and International President’s Leadership Award recipient, she is known for strong leadership, mentorship, and growing Lions across the district.

FVDG Kim Giles

First Vice District Governor Kim Giles has been a Lion since 2013 and a driving force of the Waco Women’s Lions Club. She has served as President twice, Zone Chair, Guiding Lion, and Vision Chair, sponsored new Lions, earned multiple International President awards, and is widely respected for her leadership, integrity, and commitment to service in District 2X3.

SVDG Daniel Burkeen

Second Vice District Governor Daniel Burkeen has been a Lion since 2001, serving the Mexia Lions Club as three time Club President, eight year Zone Chair, and LCIF District Coordinator. A Lion of the Year and Melvin Jones Fellow, he is widely respected for his leadership and deep community service across District 2X3.
